Need a marriage, dog, hunting, or fishing license? Use this page to see what to bring, where to apply, and how to renew online. The Town Clerk’s office hours are Tuesday-Thursday, 10:00 AM-2:00 PM, and also by appointment.
Marriage License
Both applicants must appear in person before the Town Clerk to apply for a New York State marriage license.
Please bring:
- A photo ID for each applicant, such as a driver’s license or passport.
- A birth certificate for each applicant.
- Information about any previous marriages. If a previous marriage ended by divorce, annulment, or death, bring certified documentation.
- Payment of the $40 marriage license fee by cash or check.
A New York marriage license is valid for ceremonies performed in New York State. There is a 24-hour waiting period after the license is issued, and the license is generally valid for 60 calendar days beginning the day after it is issued.

Dog License
New York State requires dogs four months and older to be licensed in the municipality where the dog lives. You can start with the Town’s dog license application and return it to the Town Clerk.
Please bring or include:
- A completed Dog License Application.
- A current rabies vaccination certificate.
- Proof of spay or neuter, if applicable.
- Payment of the annual license fee: $5.50 for a spayed or neutered dog, or $13.50 for a dog that is not spayed or neutered. Fees are payable by cash, check, or money order.
Hunting and Fishing Licenses
The Town Clerk can issue New York State DEC sporting licenses in person. Renewals and many new licenses can also be completed online through DECALS.
For online renewal, use DECALS and have your DEC account information, previous license, or DEC ID available. If coming in person, bring identification, any current or previous DEC license, and proof of residency or eligibility if applying for a resident, free, or reduced-fee license. First-time hunters should also bring required hunter education course information.
